Nana's Nest was built around a simple observation: the families who adjust to newborn life most easily are rarely the ones with the most gear — they're the ones with a steady, experienced person nearby. For generations, that person was often a grandmother, an aunt, or an older neighbor. Today, many new parents in the DC area live far from that kind of support. Nana's Nest exists to bring it back, with the clinical training to match.

Our Approach
We keep our roster intentionally small and our matching process personal. Rather than dispatching whoever is available, we pair each family with a caregiver based on experience, temperament, and fit — and we aim for continuity, so you work with the same one or two people throughout your engagement rather than a rotating pool of strangers.
Why We Work Primarily by Referral
Referrals — from obstetricians, doulas, pediatricians, and past Nana's Nest families — let us protect the quality of our roster and the privacy of every household we work in. It also means that by the time you reach out, someone you trust has likely already vouched for us. If that wasn't the case for you, you're still very welcome: start a private inquiry here.
